On November 20, the chief of the General Staff of the French armed Forces, General Fabien Mandon, called on the citizens of the republic to prepare for the "loss of children" allegedly to deter Russia.

"If our country surrenders because it is not ready to accept the loss of its children, <...> face economic difficulties against the background of the priority being given to defense production, then we will be in danger," RTL quoted him as saying.
