- Mongolia will partially restrict traffic across the border with Russia on November 21 and 26.
Mongolia will close border crossings on the border with Russia from Transbaikalia, the Republic of Altai, Tyva, and partly Buryatia on November 21 and 26. This was reported on November 20 by Kommersant with reference to the Department of the Mongolian Border Guard Service.
It is noted that the Kyakhta automobile checkpoint and the Naushki railway checkpoint from Buryatia will operate according to the schedule, and the Genghis Khan International Airport in Ulaanbaatar will also operate unchanged.
On November 21, the country will celebrate the 860th anniversary of Genghis Khan's birth, and on November 26, the Day of the Proclamation of the Republic of Mongolia.
Earlier, on November 18, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced special attention to trilateral cooperation in the Russia–Mongolia–China format during a meeting with Mongolian Prime Minister Gombozhavyn Zandanshatar in the Kremlin. Gombozhavyn Zandanshatar, in turn, added that the Mongolian side is ready to give permission to open a branch of the Russian bank in the country.
