Russian President Vladimir Putin, in congratulating workers and veterans of the transport industry, called the strategically important role of transport in achieving Russia's national development goals. His statement was published on November 20 on the Kremlin's website.

"I cordially congratulate the labor collectives and veterans on their professional holiday — Transport Worker's Day... I would like to thank the workers and veterans of the industry for their well—coordinated, conscientious work for the benefit of the Fatherland and our people," the publication says.

He noted that the strengthening of Russia's economic, industrial, and technological sovereignty and the social well-being of its citizens largely depend on the competence and responsible attitude of industry workers.

Earlier, on November 12, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced the launch of the first unmanned taxi with a test driver in the cabin in 2026 in Moscow. It was noted that such technologies can be used only after testing and under the condition of their safety for citizens.
