Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in an article for the Lao media "Russia and Laos: 65 years of time-tested Friendship" on November 20, stressed that a sustainable settlement of the Ukrainian conflict is possible only by eliminating its root causes, including neutralizing threats from the aggressive expansion of NATO.
"It is necessary to reliably guarantee Russia's security, neutralize the threats emanating from the aggressive expansion of NATO, and stop attempts to draw Ukraine into this militaristic alliance," Lavrov said, the article was also published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
He also welcomed Laos' independent foreign policy and its balanced position in the context of the Ukrainian crisis.
