Road maintenance in the Murmansk region was estimated at 16.5 billion rubles.

About 16.5 billion rubles are required to upgrade and maintain the transport system in the Murmansk Region in 2026. The projected costs for the relevant state program were approved by members of the Committee on Transport, Road Management and Informatization of the regional Duma.

A significant part of the expenses — 6 billion rubles — is planned to be spent on the reconstruction of the Apatity–Kirovsk highway. About 840 million rubles will be allocated for the repair of Khibiny Airport.

Another 2.4 billion rubles has been budgeted for the organization of regular transportation of passengers and luggage by motor transport at regulated tariffs. More than 318 million rubles are provided for communication with Ostrovnoye.

The deputies also discussed the implementation of the Information Society state program. It is planned to allocate about 1.5 billion rubles for the digitalization of the Arctic. The money, in particular, will be used to develop a network of regional MFCs and a public cybersecurity system.

According to Bi-Port news agency, special attention will be paid to ensuring stable mobile communications along the entire length of the Kola federal highway in the region.

Earlier, Izvestia wrote that Russia is preparing a large-scale upgrade of the port infrastructure. Murmansk and Arkhangelsk, in particular, are expected to increase cargo traffic. This will expand trade with China, India and a number of other countries.
