The nutritionist explained the constant desire to have a snack
Nutritionist Victoria Govorushko told why you want to eat all the time and how to stop it.
In an interview with Radio 1 on Wednesday, November 19, the specialist explained that many people face "food disruptions" after hunger strikes or strict restrictions, and this is not due to weak will, but to biochemistry: the hunger hormone increases with long breaks in food and by evening literally pushes a person to the refrigerator. She explained that the body perceives prolonged lack of food as a threat and tries to defend itself.
According to her, only animal protein helps to cope with increased ghrelin — not sweets or vegetables, but meat, fish, eggs and dairy products. The specialist emphasized that adding protein to each meal helps to avoid breakdowns and maintain a feeling of fullness for longer.
On November 7, nutritionist Irina Pisareva explained the dangers of snacking on the go. In an interview with RT, she noted that eating on the run does not give a feeling of fullness and can negatively affect the work of the stomach. The brain needs 20 minutes to receive satiety signals from the stomach. If you eat quickly, this signal does not arrive in time, which can lead to overeating.
In October, nutritionist, endocrinologist Elvina Binatova told how to control nutrition in the evening. According to her, hunger, as a rule, feels like emptiness, rumbling in the stomach, at this time it does not matter for the body what to eat. She added that "zhor" is popularly referred to as the desire to drown out any negative emotion.
Also in October, scientist Anton Belkin said that diet coke can provoke overeating. According to him, artificial sweeteners are used in diet sodas — aspartame, sucralose, acesulfame potassium. They give the taste of sweetness, but do not provide energy, which disrupts the natural control of hunger. The brain waits for calories, but does not receive them — and this often leads to overeating, reports 360.ru .
At the same time, dermatologist Irina Skorogudaeva told NSN how to avoid fatal obesity. Excess weight is caused by overeating and lack of exercise, which increases the risk of serious diseases and shortens life. If a person does not exercise, his daily allowance is about 1200 kcal.
