Chinese Russian-built cars may occupy half of the Russian market
In December of this year, approximately 50% of Chinese passenger cars sold in Russia may be Russian-made. This forecast was given by analysts at Gazprombank Autoleasing, Kommersant reports on November 19.
In October, the share of such machines in the sales structure reached 43% (34.5 thousand units). At the same time, the figure was 41% in September, and 21% a year ago. Thus, the share of locally assembled Chinese brand cars sold in Russia doubled year-on-year.
Experts believe that more and more cars in Russia will be sold not under their own original brands, but under brands created specifically for the Russian market. The growing rates of recycling fees will contribute to the growth of localization in the future, they believe.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that China is likely to retain its status as the world's largest car exporter for the third year in a row. Since 1980, Japan has been the largest exporter of cars, and for the first time China surpassed it in this indicator by the end of 2023.
