- The case of the smuggling of 3 tons of black caviar in the Khabarovsk Territory was sent to court
The prosecutor's office has sent to court a criminal case on the smuggling of 3 tons of sturgeon caviar in the Khabarovsk Territory. A car with a delicacy was detained on the Khabarovsk–Nakhodka road.
As stated in the message of the regional supervisory authority, an indictment has been approved in the case of three members of an organized criminal group. The article is "Illegal trafficking of aquatic biological resources."
The investigation believes that in the period from September to October 2024, the defendants bought more than 3 tons of black caviar in the Ulchi district. They transported the products to garages in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, and then packed them for transportation to the Moscow region.
To transport the caviar, the defendants recruited a driver who transported the caviar to Khabarovsk in October 2024. However, he was detained on the way to Nakhodka. The caviar was seized from illegal circulation, and the vehicle in which it was transported was arrested, IA AmurMedia writes.
Earlier it was reported that employees of the Ussuriysk customs seized about 18 tons of chum from a resident of Sakhalin. He tried to illegally ship the fish to one of the Asian countries. Earlier, the violator had already transported 20 tons of fish across the border. The total value of the contraband goods is 20 million rubles.
