Moscow colleges' programs will be fully updated in the next two years.
In 2026-2027, seven innovative colleges will be built in Moscow, and the secondary vocational education (SPE) programs will be completely updated. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, in his channel in the MAX.
Sobyanin approved plans for the modernization of the PDF in Moscow for 2026-2027 following a meeting of the government's presidium, notes mos.ru . In particular, the updating of all educational programs at colleges will be completed and the use of the Moscow Electronic School's capabilities will be expanded.
"We will modernize and create about 600 educational workshops and laboratories equipped with modern equipment," Sobyanin wrote. The capital will also continue to develop a career guidance system for schoolchildren and expand partnerships with organizations for the employment of college graduates, the mayor stressed.
There are 177 colleges in Moscow, about 70 of them are private. They have more than 300,000 students. IT has become the most popular field among students (22.9 thousand students). Training programs in industry (19 thousand), creative industries (17.7 thousand) and the transport sector (14.9 thousand) are also in high demand.
Earlier, Sobyanin spoke about the growing popularity of IT areas in Moscow colleges. According to his estimates, 7.7 thousand students have enrolled in relevant specialties this year. In total, the colleges train specialists in 12 highly demanded IT areas, including software development, information security, system support, and installation of communication networks.
