In the Japanese city of Oita with a population of almost 500 thousand people, a large fire broke out, engulfing more than 170 buildings, including several residential buildings. This was reported on November 18 by NHK TV channel with reference to a message from the disaster management headquarters of Oita Prefecture.
It is clarified that one person has not yet been contacted — a 76-year-old man is missing.
After more than 122 hours, extinguishing the fire continues, but, according to experts, it is unknown when it will be eliminated.
On November 18, the KazTAG agency, citing the Department of Emergency Situations of the region, reported that 12 people, including nine children, were killed in a fire in a two-story private house in the Turkestan region of Kazakhstan. The government and the head of the regional administration were instructed to provide all necessary assistance to close relatives and investigate the causes of the tragedy.
