The Polish Defense Minister announced the dispatch of 400 soldiers to guard the railway infrastructure.

The Polish Ministry of Defense has decided to send 400 military personnel to protect the country's railway infrastructure. This was announced on Tuesday, November 18, by the head of this department Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh.

"More than 400 territorial defense troops <...> patrol 80 key sections of the railway infrastructure," reads a post on his page on the social network X (former. Twitter).

The Minister noted that representatives of the republic's railway security service are also taking part in this operation. According to him, all those involved in the protection of tracks, embankments, culverts and railway junctions use all necessary equipment, including drones and a helicopter.

"Joint operations <...> will be held for as long as required. If necessary, the forces will be increased," he concluded.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on Sunday, November 16, that damage had been discovered to the railway track in the northeast of his country on the section that connects Warsaw with Ukraine through the Dorohusk border crossing. On the same day, the police of the republic did not confirm the information about the damage to the tracks as a result of the explosion.

On November 18, Kosinyak-Kamysh groundlessly accused Moscow of this incident. According to him, all traces lead to the east, to Russia, but he could not provide evidence for his statements. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on the same day that the Kremlin would consider it "strange" if there were no accusations of this sabotage against the Russian Federation. He pointed to the flourishing of Russophobia in Poland in "full bloom."
