Alcohol remains one of the most popular New Year's gifts. Several companies selling wine and vodka products told Izvestia about this.

"We see that sparkling wines, dry reds and whites, are most often chosen as gifts, often in beautiful gift packaging. Many customers are looking for wines and sets with the image of a horse on the label or box as a symbol of the coming year," Daria Sologub, Director of Procurement at Fort wine trading company, told Izvestia.

According to her, the average budget for such gifts now stands at 1.5–3 thousand rubles, while the premium segment of 5 thousand rubles and above maintains stable demand.

"Against the background of rising excise taxes and duties, more and more corporate and private clients are paying attention to domestic wines. According to our data, interest in Russian sparkling wine has grown by about 30%, especially in corporate purchases. There is also interest in unusual items, for example, champagne from small recoltant farms or wines from rare and unexpected regions. Such options allow you to make a gift more individual and memorable," she explained to Izvestia.

According to her, there is also a change in preferences for strong alcohol: the proportion of whiskey, gin and rum is growing, while traditional vodka shows more moderate results.

On the eve of the holiday season, the corporate gift market is experiencing steady growth in premium categories of alcoholic beverages. Companies are increasingly favoring high-quality wines and spirits, including rare and exclusive items. Izvestia was informed about this by the Simple Group, a company that is one of the largest suppliers of premium alcohol and gift solutions for corporate clients.

As the analysts explained, the company began forming New Year's gift funds in August to ensure timely deliveries. However, the largest surge in sales is traditionally expected in the second half of November and early December.

According to the results of the first two months of the season, the democratic segment retains the main share in the structure of orders — about 30% in physical terms. However, premium positions are becoming the main driver of growth, and this is happening against the background of the general trend of switching to a more democratic segment in corporate orders. According to the Simple Group, sales of premium sparkling wines increased year—on-year by 15% in units, and premium spirits - by 9%.

If we talk about the categories of alcoholic beverages, the interest in classic sparkling wines remains stable. In the premium spirits category, there is a growing demand for gin, cognac, porto and whiskey as part of a comprehensive order.

"Today, a corporate gift is not just a status gesture. It is a brand communication tool, demonstrating the sustainability and taste of the company. We see that corporate clients are increasingly striving to emphasize the quality and individuality of their solutions. This personalization is reflected in the expert selection of wines by style and region of origin, which allows you to select limited editions that complement the recipient's personal collection," said Denis Kashirin, Commercial Director of B2C Simple Group.

According to the company, the demand for gift-wrapped wines is growing in orders of up to 1 million rubles. In the range from 1 to 5 million, the demand for capsule solutions for negotiations and personalized reward kits has increased, for example, using the company's logo or the recipient's name on the label. In addition, a 15% increase in regular supplies of products to the office is recorded in the segment from 1 to 5 million.

In larger corporate contracts over 5 and 20 million rubles, there is an increase in comprehensive support for large-scale events with full support and an increase in orders for exclusive VIP gifts. At the same time, interest in combined purchases for several events increased by 30% during the year, which is partly due to the favorable terms of the privilege program.

In addition, a 50% increase in interest in planning investment orders within the annual budget was recorded in the segment of over 20 million rubles.

Candidate of Economic Sciences, financial analyst Mikhail Belyaev said on September 26 that you can start buying gifts for the New Year in advance, and you can also set aside the required amount in order to purchase everything you need closer to the holiday. According to him, there is no need to hope for New Year's sales.
