Washington handed over to Kiev 50 Ukrainians who were returned to their homeland through Poland. This was announced on November 18 by the speaker of the State Border Service of Ukraine (GBSU) Andrey Demchenko.

"50 citizens who were deported from the United States returned through the Shegini checkpoint on the border with Poland," he said in an interview with the Ukrainian edition of the Public.

Demchenko added that the American side had informed Ukraine about this operation in advance. According to the speaker, those immigrants who did not have US citizenship were subject to deportation. Representatives of the border guard service are currently investigating the circumstances that prompted Washington to forcibly return these individuals.

On November 14, The Washington Post (WP) learned that the administration of US President Donald Trump is preparing for a large-scale deportation of Ukrainian citizens. At that time, it was reported that the White House was planning to expel 80 Ukrainians from its territory. This procedure, as noted in the publication, is carried out within the framework of immigration legislation, which provides for the return to their home countries of those people who violate the conditions of their stay in the United States.
