Trump denied his affair with economist Epstein
During a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on November 18, US President Donald Trump categorically denied any connection with financier Jeffrey Epstein.
"As for the Epstein files: I have nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein," Trump said.
In addition, Trump described the financier as a "sick pervert." Earlier on November 16, Trump also sharply responded to a journalist after she asked about a possible attempt by the White House to conceal information about his ties with Epstein.
Epstein committed suicide at a correctional center in New York in August 2019. A few months earlier, he had been arrested on charges of organizing sex trafficking and involving minors in prostitution. Prior to this, the prosecutor's office reported evidence that in 2002-2005, Epstein organized visits to his home in the New York borough of Manhattan for dozens of underage girls. In January 2024, the first part of the documents was published, containing the names of more than 150 people involved in the financier's case. Among them are former US President Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, and Microsoft founder Bill Gates.
On July 19, US President Donald Trump asked the US Department of Justice to release all available evidence from the jury in the Epstein case. However, later, on July 23, the Florida court rejected this request, in connection with which Trump expressed his dissatisfaction on July 28. It was also reported that unpublished materials on the Epstein case may include the names of at least 20 well-known people potentially associated with crimes, but they never became involved in the investigation. Congress plans to consider publishing these documents next week.
On November 10, it was reported that Democrats from the House Oversight Committee published the correspondence of financier Jeffrey Epstein, which mentions the name of Donald Trump. The White House called the publication an attempt to discredit the former president and said that the Democrats selectively handed over the letters to the liberal media.
