The phlebologist Takhir Yarakhmedov explained the main factors influencing the development of thrombosis.

In an interview with the Health Mail on November 17, the specialist noted that blood clots form for three main reasons: slowing blood flow with sedentary or varicose veins, damage to the vascular wall due to injury or inflammation, and hypercoagulation — increased activity of the blood coagulation system.

The doctor clarified that both genetic characteristics and acquired conditions can lead to hypercoagulation, such as cancer, smoking or taking hormonal drugs. Yarakhmedov emphasized that the probability of thrombosis increases significantly with a combination of several risk factors.

The specialist classified overweight people, diabetics, men over 40 years old, pregnant and recently born women, as well as patients with oncological diseases as an increased risk group. Separately, the doctor noted an increased risk of thrombosis in women taking hormonal contraceptives.

On October 30, sleep therapist Maxim Novikov told Izvestia that sleep apnea can lead to thrombosis. According to him, the constant lack of oxygen triggers a chain reaction: inflammation increases, blood thickens, and blood vessels lose their ability to relax and purify normally. Their walls are damaged, clotting increases, and as a result, a blood clot may form.

On October 13, Ekaterina Demyanovskaya, an expert doctor, said that with thrombosis, clots form in the blood vessels, which can interfere with normal blood flow and lead to stroke, heart attack or pulmonary embolism. Deep vein thrombosis is usually manifested by unilateral edema, bursting pain in the calf, which increases when walking, and reddening of the skin with a bluish tinge, reports RT.

In September, Lyudmila Sukhorukova, a gastroenterologist at the Vidnovo Clinical Hospital, spoke about the ability of grapes to strengthen blood vessels. Grapes are an important source of polyphenols, which have antioxidant properties. Such substances can reduce the level of "bad" cholesterol and reduce the likelihood of developing atherosclerosis. In addition, the polyphenols contained in sweet fruits have a positive effect on heart function. 360.ru .
