The online gaming platform Roblox has launched a voluntary photo verification of users before communicating online in order to increase security. This was reported by Bloomberg on November 18.

The company plans to require photo verification for all users of the platform by January 2026. It is noted that the images will be deleted after processing.

According to the developers, age verification can help increase user safety. Recent changes in European legislation are forcing some services to check audience information more strictly. According to the publication, the company has implemented dozens of security updates over the past year.

On September 8, The Washington Post reported that Meta (recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) concealed research on the risks to the safety of children using the organization's virtual reality devices and applications. It was noted that the company categorically denied this accusation.
