The Savelovsky Court of Moscow has registered the first protocol on the violation of the procedure for the activities of a foreign agent in relation to political scientist Sergei Markov (included in the register of foreign agents). This was reported to Izvestia on November 18 in court.

According to the case file, Markov is charged with Part 1 of Article 19.34 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the procedure for the activity of a foreign agent"). He faces a fine of 50 thousand rubles.

On August 22, the Russian Ministry of Justice added the political scientist to the register of foreign agents. In addition, the ministry noted that Markov regularly distributed materials from foreign and international organizations that are considered undesirable in Russia.

Also, according to the Ministry of Justice, the political scientist acted as an "expert" on the information platforms of the media and foreign agents, spreading false information about the decisions of the Russian authorities and their policies.

Earlier that day, the Savyolovsky District Court brought to administrative responsibility journalist Zhanna Agalakova (included in the register of foreign agents). She was given an administrative fine of 30,000 rubles.
