Putin stated the need to enhance the global role of the SCO

The members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) have a common goal — to enhance the role of the association as one of the most influential in the world. This was announced on November 18 by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with the heads of delegations of the Council of Heads of Government of the organization's member states.

He also noted that the SCO governments have a special role to play in expanding cooperation among the organization's member states.
