The BAIC car brand will strengthen the off-road direction in Russia
BAIC will expand its off-road vehicle range in Russia, with two new models joining the already available BJ40 and BJ60 frames in 2026: the BJ30 and BJ41. This is stated in a message from the official distributor of the brand in Russia, JSC BMR (BAIK Motors Rus), which was received by Izvestia on November 18.
The BAIC BJ30 is a lightweight SUV with a body length of 4730 mm and a wheelbase of 2820 mm. The roof is equipped with a luggage system with a load of up to 300 kg for camping, installing tents or transporting equipment. In the Russian market, the model will be offered in a hybrid version of the REHEV, in which the internal combustion engine works as a generator to recharge the battery. The BAIC BJ41 is a new generation of the BJ40 frame SUV with a one-piece roof (the top of the predecessor is disassembled). The model will be available with petrol and diesel engines. In 2027, hybrid BJ41 SUVs with BJ60 and mid-size X55 crossovers with BAIC X75 with REHEV installation are planned to enter the Russian market.
In the fourth quarter of 2025, Baik Motors Rus re-signed contracts with 30 of the most efficient and reliable dealers, the company said. The company's plans include expanding the network to about 50 dealerships by early 2027. Along with the updated strategy, the company revealed an updated logo — instead of a three-dimensional logo, a two-dimensional one with the brand name will be used.
In 2026, it is planned to update BAIC service standards and launch a comprehensive training program for dealership employees. It is stated that now the delivery time of spare parts to dealerships has reached standard levels (5-7 days, depending on the region), while the company is optimizing logistics from China, including through new transport partners and the use of air delivery for urgent orders. BAIC also extends the service support period by one year — up to 6 years or 150,000 km of mileage.
Earlier, on October 15, it was reported that in Russia in 2026, the Avtotor plant in the Kaliningrad region is going to launch the production of BAIC brand cars in a full cycle with welding and body painting, which will achieve the required level for participation in federal programs.
