CNN announced Maduro's desire to establish communication with Trump
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro is seeking to establish communication with his American counterpart Donald Trump through several channels. This was reported on November 18 by CNN, citing sources.
"Maduro and his associates tried to contact him through several channels, wanting to establish contact," the article says.
According to the newspaper, possible negotiations between Trump and Maduro are preliminary in nature. Trump has now expressed interest in such a contact, but at the moment it is unclear who exactly could participate in a possible dialogue.
On November 16, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio accused Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro of leading the Los Soles drug cartel and said the State Department intended to recognize the group as a foreign terrorist organization. Later, the US president announced that he could hold talks with the head of Venezuela.
The next day, Trump said he was considering all possible options for action against Venezuela, including conducting a ground military operation.
