Alexey Timchenko, the former head of the digital Transformation Department of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN), pleaded guilty to accepting a bribe of 1.5 million rubles, which also included four Iphone smartphones. Court materials attest to this on November 18.
"The accused Alexey Timchenko pleaded guilty under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a particularly large bribe")," the documents read by TASS.
The transfer of funds by Sergey Putilin, a representative of ANT LLC and Modern Technologies LLC, was carried out, as noted, in order to lobby his interests when concluding a state contract for the supply of software to the main Engineering and Communications Department of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.
As it is emphasized, a criminal case was also initiated against this person involved, who concluded a pre-trial agreement. He is conditionally convicted under Part 5 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Giving a bribe on an especially large scale").
Timchenko's detention became known on August 20, 2024. At the same time, it was reported that representatives of the Moscow Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation had begun investigating his case. The next day, Izvestia published footage of Timchechno's detention, which was subsequently extended on October 16, 2025.
