The Israeli minister proposed to arrest Abbas in case of recognition of Palestine
If Palestine is recognized by the United Nations (UN), it is necessary to eliminate high-ranking representatives of the Palestinian National Authority and arrest its leader Mahmoud Abbas. This was announced on November 17 by Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir.
"If the UN recognizes the Palestinian state, then it is necessary to order the targeted liquidation of senior representatives of the Palestinian authority who are terrorists in all respects, as well as to order the arrest of Mahmoud Abbas. A punishment cell in the Kciot prison is ready for him," the message on the Telegram channel says.
The minister called the Palestinians a "fictional people" and claimed that they seek to establish a state in Israel. According to him, the discussion on the establishment of the State of Palestine may intensify against the background of the resolution that the United States intends to submit to the UN Security Council (SC) for consideration.
Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz ruled out the creation of a Palestinian state on November 16. According to him, Gaza will be demilitarized down to the last tunnel, and the Hamas movement will be disarmed.
Earlier, on October 29, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced a return to observing the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip after a series of attacks on dozens of targets of Palestinian radical movements. According to the IDF, the attacks were directed against the command level of the groups operating in the area.
