Lokomotiv beat Salavat Yulaev in the last second of overtime
On November 17, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl defeated Salavat Yulaev Ufa in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) regular season match, scoring the decisive goal a second before the end of overtime.
The game took place in Yaroslavl and ended with a score of 4:3. Georgy Ivanov (23rd minute), Nikita Kiryanov (51), Alexander Radulov (54) and Maxim Shalunov (65) scored for the hosts. Artem Gorshkov (16), Vladislav Efremov (18) and Jack Rodwald (59) scored for the visitors. Ufa captain Grigory Panin left the ice after hitting the puck in the face.
Shalunov scored the winning goal in the last second of overtime. Radulov set a league record among players over the age of 39 by scoring his 13th goal of the season. The previous achievement belonged to Pavel Datsyuk (12 goals).
Lokomotiv, the current Gagarin Cup winner, leads the Western Conference table with 40 points. Salavat Yulaev ranks ninth in the East with 23 points.
On November 19, Lokomotiv will play their next match at home against the Shanghai Dragons, while Ufa will play away from Sochi on the same day.
Earlier, on November 14, HC Severstal scored a 4-3 away victory over Spartak Moscow in the KHL championship match. It was clarified that after the match, the club rose to fourth place in the Western Conference, with 34 points. Spartak remained sixth with 29 points.
