For three and a half years, the volunteers of the Deeds are More Important than Words Foundation from Zelenograd delivered more than 400 tons of cargo to the special military operation zone. This was reported in ZelAO Prefecture.
The Foundation, which includes more than 750 residents of Zelenograd, has been helping its participants since 2022. They purchase tactical ammunition (about 100 tons of necessary equipment were sent to the military), collect food (60 tons) and medicines (more than 4 tons). The volunteers also delivered about 50 furnaces and at least 5,000 trench candles, generators and necessary electronics to the front line.
Every day, about 20 volunteers are engaged in weaving camouflage nets. "The nets are woven very carefully, taking into account seasonal features: patches of grass or branches are added so that they match the summer, autumn, winter and spring camouflage as much as possible. Over the entire period of operation, about 10 thousand square meters of camouflage nets have already been woven," said Natalia Dubrovskaya, director of the foundation.
The fund also supports military personnel who have returned from their war zone, providing them with rehabilitation facilities and basic necessities. In addition, soldiers receive consultations on social and legal issues.
According to the prefecture, the organization pays special attention to the patriotic education of young people: lessons of courage and workshops on the manufacture of camouflage nets and components for protective equipment are held.
