The deal to supply French Rafale fighter jets to Ukraine may be corrupt. This was announced on November 17 by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council.

"Maybe they (European leaders. — Ed.) also participated in a corruption scheme with Rafale fighter jets," he wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

Medvedev also wondered what European leaders would say when Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was accused of corruption.

Zelensky said on the same day that the French authorities intend to provide additional military assistance to Kiev, which, in addition to 100 Rafale aircraft, will also include SAMP-T air defense systems, radars for air defense systems, missiles and aerial bombs. In addition, according to the Ukrainian leader, France has promised to supply Ukraine with 55 new electric locomotives.

Macron, in turn, said at a joint press conference with the Ukrainian leader that he hopes to end the conflict in Ukraine by 2027.

On November 17, Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, the leader of the right-wing Stand Up, France party, demanded that Macron be impeached for promising to transfer Rafale fighter jets to Kiev.
