Barcelona Football Club will host its first match at Camp Nou after reconstruction
Spanish football club Barcelona will play its first match at the Camp Nou stadium after a partial renovation on November 22. This was announced on November 17 on the club's website.
"The decision was made after receiving the first operating license corresponding to Phase 1B, which allows to increase the capacity to 45,401 spectators," the club said in an official statement.
The match of the 13th round of La Liga against Athletic Bilbao will begin at 16:15 local time (18:15 GMT). The new permits allow the use of the lateral grandstand and the south gate, adding them to the previously opened central grandstand.
It is specified that the club continues to work on the north gate (Phase 1C) to ensure the full resumption of activity at the stadium. Among the improvements are a new tunnel for players, modern locker rooms, an increased number of seats for people with limited mobility to 129, as well as improved security and evacuation systems.
On September 30, La Gazzetta Della Sport reported that Italy's largest stadium, the San Siro, would be demolished. A new stadium is planned to be built on the site of the stadium for the 2032 European Championship, which Turkey will host together with Italy.
