The United States removed Typhon rocket launchers from Japan
The United States has removed from Japan ground-based installations of Typhon medium-range missiles, which were located at the Iwakuni base in Yamaguchi Prefecture. This was reported on November 17 by the Kyoto Shimbun newspaper.
"The Regional Bureau of the Japanese Ministry of Defense on Monday notified the Iwakuni city administration of the completion of the withdrawal of Typhon ground installations from the US Armed Forces base," the material says.
Typhon appeared at the Iwakuni military base in September of this year. The system is part of the US-Japanese military exercise Resolute Dragon and was supposed to disappear from there about a week after the end of the exercise, but it still remained there.
Before that, on October 31, the Russian Foreign Ministry protested to Japan. It was caused by the Joint Exercise 2025 exercises, which covered the territory of the entire island state, including areas of Hokkaido Island located in close proximity to the Russian borders. In addition, the ministry expressed concern that the Typhon, designed to launch medium-range and shorter-range missiles, has not yet been removed from the Japanese archipelago, located at the base of the US Armed Forces in the framework of the Resolute Dragon 25 (September 11-25) exercises.
