In Russia, they may simplify the procedure for obtaining access to classified data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (USRLE). Such a bill was approved by the government commission on legislative activity on Monday, November 17. This was reported to Izvestia by sources in the Cabinet of Ministers.

The bill proposes to amend the Federal Law "On State Registration of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs," said Vladimir Gruzdev, Chairman of the Board of the Russian Bar Association.

"Now the Federal Tax Service can restrict access to information about a legal entity, for example, if this person is included in the sanctions list by a foreign state. The bill establishes that if the grounds for such a restriction cease (for example, removal from the sanctions list), the Federal Tax Service of Russia must independently and automatically resume access to this information," Gruzdev explained.

He added that this eliminates the need to submit additional applications or initiate procedures to restore the openness of the data.

The bill is aimed at solving the problem of excessive concealment of information about legal entities and individual entrepreneurs.

"Such concealment may contradict the interests of the business entities themselves, complicating their interaction with counterparties, partners and government agencies. The proposed amendments are designed to ensure a more rapid update of information in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, making it more relevant and reliable," the expert said.

The changes are also aimed at preventing situations where the right to conceal information may be used unfairly or unreasonably.

Earlier, on April 28, Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov noted that small and medium-sized businesses are actively involved in the implementation of resource- and knowledge-intensive projects, including the development and creation of unmanned aerial vehicles, the implementation of space programs, and the production of products as part of import substitution. At the same time, approximately two thirds of SMEs operate in the form of individual entrepreneurship.
