On Sunday, November 16, a backpack with human remains was found in the Golyanovsky Pond in Moscow. According to the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation, they belonged to a boy between the ages of seven and ten. According to the Izvestia source, the child was beheaded about two days ago.

The child's body was later found in Balashikha, Moscow region. The boy's grandmother contacted the law enforcement agencies. According to her, the 6-year-old grandson was taken away from home by his mother's roommate, after which the connection with the child was cut off. A source told Izvestia that the boy's body was found on the balcony. The 31-year-old mother of the child was also in the apartment in a state of drug intoxication. The woman was detained, and searches were conducted at the crime scene.

Subsequently, the detainee confessed to the murder of her son and wrote a confession, but she could not explain the motives for the brutal massacre of the child. According to investigators, the woman, while in the apartment with the boy, killed and dismembered him, and then threw the body parts into the Golyanovsky pond.

As specified in the Main Investigation Department (GSU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the Moscow region, the investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement officers have ordered a number of examinations, and relatives and neighbors are being interrogated.

A source told RIA Novosti that the woman was suffering from schizophrenia. It is noted that she has been treated in a psychiatric hospital more than once. Her neighbors also told Izvestia about the strange behavior of the child's mother.

"There are some problems with my head. It was very strange... I heard someone yelling. I've heard screams so many times. Since we settled here, there have been constant wild screams. Swearing, swearing," the interlocutors noted.

As follows from the decision of the Kirzhachsky court of the Vladimir region, the father of the murdered child, Alexander Matitsyn, was twice convicted of theft. In 2014, a man was sentenced to six months in prison in a penal colony. According to the investigation, he stole a purse with money and documents from a car, stole two bottles of cognac from a local store and tried to steal a scooter together with an accomplice.

A few months later, the court found him guilty of stealing a bicycle. At the same time, a minor was also involved in the crime — while the teenager was carrying the bike out of the entrance, the man was standing guard at the entrance. Matitsyn admitted his guilt. Taking into account previous offenses, he was sentenced to eight months in a penal colony.
