By the end of 2025, more stray animals will be captured in the Pskov Region than originally planned. The increase in the quota is stated in the order of the regional veterinary committee.

Previously, 399 dogs and 82 cats were supposed to be captured by the end of the year, but now these standards have been increased to 478 dogs and 89 cats, the Pskov News Feed notes.

Prior to that, changes were made to the catch schedule in the Nevelsky district. The number of dogs for trapping has been increased to 91 from 84.

The situation with stray animals has worsened in the Ostrovsky district. The petition for trapping stray animals was submitted by the residents of the district. Residents of the Pskov village of Novaya Gogolevka also complain about the activity of dog packs, the agency writes.

Earlier it was reported that in St. Petersburg, in the third reading, the law on the maintenance of dogs in the city was adopted. According to the documentation, the duties of the dog owner include suppressing aggression from the animal towards others, preventing it from causing possible harm, as well as ensuring the cleaning of pet waste products. In addition, the new law provides for additional requirements for the maintenance of dogs.
