Almost 200 babies with weight deficiency were saved by doctors from Moscow region

Since the beginning of 2025, neonatologists in the Moscow region have managed to save about 3.5 thousand children who were born prematurely. Of these, 191 newborns had extremely low body weight.

Such data is reported by the regional Ministry of Health on the International Day of Premature Babies. According to the head of the department Maxim Zabelin, quoted by the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya, Moscow region maternity hospitals are equipped with modern equipment necessary to provide medical care to pregnant women, women in labor and newborns.

The region has a three-tier maternity care system. Patients can receive highly qualified care at six perinatal centers and the regional Research Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Earlier it was reported that 78 digital X-ray machines have been put into operation in hospitals and polyclinics in the Moscow region since the beginning of 2025. The region continues to be provided with new equipment. About 1.8 billion rubles were allocated for the purchase of equipment, of which more than 22.3 million rubles were allocated for new equipment for the hospital in Krasnogorsk.
