On November 17, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov expressed hope for a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and American leader Donald Trump after completing all necessary preparations.

"Any summit should be productive, and the effectiveness of the summit is the subject of scrupulous, in-depth preparation. Because as soon as these preparations are completed and conditions are created for the summit, we hope it will take place," Peskov said at a briefing.
