Earlier that day, an earthquake occurred in the Pacific Ocean off the eastern coast of Kamchatka. The magnitude was 5.2. In addition, increased volcanic activity was detected on November 15. The Krasheninnikov volcano spewed ash to a height of about 2.7 km.
