Russia's largest silicon plant will suspend production from 2026
Russia's largest silicon plant, JSC Silicon, which is part of the Rusal Group, will temporarily cease operations on January 1, 2026 due to a global surplus and an increase in silicon imports at dumping prices in the Russian Federation. This was announced on November 17 by the company's press service.
"Due to the global overproduction of silicon and the growth of silicon imports at dumping prices to Russia, the Silicon plant is forced to suspend production from January 1, 2026. <...> The Silicon Ural plant will continue to operate at incomplete capacity," RIA Novosti reports.
