Sobyanin praised the work on traffic management in the west of Moscow

Since the beginning of 2025, the traffic supervisors of the Data Center have implemented 57 traffic improvement projects in the Western Administrative District (ZAO) of the capital. This was announced by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in his personal blog. Many of the projects were initiated by the residents of the district.

Additional pedestrian crossings and safety islands have been added in several areas. Thus, at the request of residents of Ochakovo-Matveevsky, a crossing was set up on Malaya Ochakovskaya Street, which provided a convenient route to the Ozernaya metro station and social facilities. The crossings were also marked on Davydkovskaya Street near school No. 1248 and in Novo-Peredelkin on the Borovsky highway understudy.

Pedestrian safety islands were set up on six intra-district roads. In Mozhaisk district, new markings appeared on Krasnykh Zor Street, in Novo-Peredelkin — on Sholokhov Street near school No. 1238.

"A series of projects were related to changing the speed limit in order to calm down car traffic near social facilities," the mayor said. In Kuntsevo on Orshanskaya Street, the maximum allowed speed was halved from 60 to 30 km/h. The restriction was introduced in the area where the MAI building, several schools and public transport stops are located. Similar changes occurred on Marshal Sergeev and Oleko Dundich streets.

The CJSC also has two new dedicated lanes with a total length of about 3 km. 11 urban transport routes are organized along them. Additional lanes for cars have been added to 12 road sections due to the redistricting.

The number of lanes on Kutuzovsky Prospekt has been increased from five to six, which has reduced travel time by 15-20%. The "waffle" markings were applied at three difficult intersections. In addition, road supervisors have initiated the creation of 195 additional parking spaces on Malaya Ochakovskaya Street and Skolkovo Highway, Sobyanin said.
