Competitions dedicated to the All-Russian Sambo Day were held in Moscow, where the country's strongest SAMBO wrestlers were determined. The day before, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the athletes on the holiday.

The final of the All—Russian SAMBO competitions brought together the best and most promising athletes - participants from all over the country were pre-selected. In three minutes of the allotted time, the judges had to reveal the winner of the duels. During one day of competition, each SAMBO wrestler held at least seven duels.

"There were only 11 fights. I won at nine. I will thank my parents for coming here, I will thank my coach," said Ruslan Ramazanov, the winner in the category up to 50 kg.

Renowned professionals, including two-time world champion in combat sambo Karina Cherevan, who confirmed Russia's dominance in this sport at the World Championships in Kyrgyzstan, are watching the juniors from the podium. The women's national team under a neutral flag set a historical record by winning gold medals in all seven weight categories.

"SAMBO birthday tournaments are being held simultaneously in more than 100 Russian cities. They are held at different ages, but everywhere we definitely invite our friends, honored guests, parents, and everyone who has not yet decided on our sport," said Sergey Eliseev, President of the Russian Sambo Federation.

Taisiya Nikolaeva became the best among girls in the weight category over 65 kg, and Maxim Makeev became the best among boys in the category up to 65 kg.

On November 16, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Russians on Sambo Day, noting the special role of this type of martial arts in the country's sports and social life. He noted that this sport develops not only physical strength, but also important personal qualities — will, self-discipline, respect for the opponent.
