In South Korea, two people were killed and four others were injured in an accident involving 13 cars. This was announced on Monday, November 17, according to the Yonhap news agency.

"Early on Monday morning, a chain accident involving 13 vehicles, including a tanker truck, occurred on an expressway in the southeastern city of Yongchon, killing two people and injuring four others," the publication said.

It is noted that the cause of the large-scale accident was the collision of two heavy vehicles: a 26-ton tanker truck carrying 24 thousand liters of bunker fuel crashed into the back of a 25-ton truck. After that, another collision occurred, as another 140-ton truck flew into the tanker truck from behind, which led to a further "chain reaction" on the road.

"In addition, several I-beams loaded into one of the trucks fell into the oncoming lane, which led to additional collisions between a passenger car, another tanker truck and a 13—ton truck that were trying to avoid fallen objects," the agency clarifies the scale of the accident.

As a result, two cars caught fire, which were successfully extinguished after 2.5 hours. In addition, the oil transported in one of the tanks as a result of the accident flowed into the nearest rice fields, and also got into the water.

Earlier, on November 8, in the American city of Tampa, a man tried to escape from the police in a car, but lost control and crashed into a crowd of people, as a result of which four people were killed and at least 13 injured. It is specified that the driver of the car was arrested. He is accused of murder and attempting to escape from police officers.
