Earlier, on November 16, it was reported that the boy's remains were found in Golyanovsky Pond in the east of Moscow, and a criminal case of murder was opened on this fact. According to the investigation, the body fragments were in a backpack and presumably belonged to the boy.

The child's grandmother contacted law enforcement agencies after, according to her, her daughter's roommate took the child away from home and he did not return. The investigation is considering all versions of what happened, including the possible involvement of the mother and others, and forensic examinations have been ordered.
