Orban opposed the annexation of Transcarpathia to Hungary
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that he would not support the possible annexation of Transcarpathia to Hungary. He said this on November 16 during a podcast with Mathias Depfner, CEO of the Axel Springer media group, published on BILD's YouTube channel.
According to the politician, Hungary has "already lost" in such situations and does not intend to repeat the mistakes of the past.
"Experience suggests that it is not worth embarking on such an adventure," Orban said.
Earlier, on November 15, it was reported that Orban allowed the possibility of an early settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, noting the importance of a unified position of Western countries. He also said that the United States is trying to contribute to the cessation of hostilities, while Europe, according to him, is inclined to continue them.
