More than 30 people have died in a landslide in southern Congo.
More than 30 people have died as a result of the collapse of a copper mine site in the south of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The Turkish newspaper Daily Sabah wrote about this on November 16.
"The collapse of a copper mine site occurred in a mine in the province of Lualaba. At least 32 dead miners were found. A search is currently underway for other bodies," Interior Minister Roy Kaumba Mayonde told reporters.
According to him, access to the site was closed due to heavy rains and the risk of a landslide, however, the workers ignored the ban and went down into the mine.
The article notes that people who did not have a license worked in the mine. In addition, the company was accused of using child labor.
Earlier, on November 15, the newspaper 20 minutes reported that the death toll from the landslide that struck Indonesia on Thursday, November 13, reached 11 people. It is noted that the landslide was caused by heavy rains. It struck three villages in Central Java, damaging several houses.
