- VAI traffic inspectors reminded about safety on Memorial Day of the victims of road accidents
Traffic inspectors of the Military Automobile Inspectorate (VAI) of the Center group of forces conducted a preventive action on the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) in connection with the World Day of Remembrance of Victims of Road Accidents. This was announced on November 16 by the Russian Defense Ministry.
The event was aimed at drawing attention to road safety. During the campaign, it was also recalled that the preservation of the lives of drivers and pedestrians depends on each participant in the movement.
"We remind drivers and pedestrians to follow the rules of the road and not ignore them. We pay attention to difficult weather conditions," said Vladimir Ruppel, inspector of the VAI GdV Center.
During the action, VAI specialists stopped military and civilian vehicles, conducted inspections, talked about the significance of the event and handed drivers memos.
"The VAI staff stopped, checked the documents, and reminded us of the World Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Road Accidents. The road is slippery now, and it's foggy. The road is very dangerous," said military driver Semyon Aksakov.
In addition, the action became a way to honor the memory of those killed in road accidents and express support for people recovering from accidents.
Earlier, on November 14, the State Traffic Inspectorate announced mass inspections of drivers in the regions. On November 14-16, preventive measures were reported to be carried out on the roads of the Tver, Kirov, Ulyanovsk, Samara, Smolensk, Penza regions and other regions of the country.
