The fuel production plant for a research nuclear reactor in Tehran was the first to be attacked by Israel. This was stated on November 16 by Mohammad Eslami, Vice President of Iran and head of the Atomic Energy Organization of the country (OEAI), at the conference "International Law under Attack: aggression and Self-defense."

"The first place that Israel attacked was the fuel production plant for the Tehran reactor. [...] Information about it was at the disposal of the IAEA," RIA Novosti quoted Eslami as saying.

He noted that the research nuclear reactor in Tehran, for which the plant that was hit produced fuel, produces radioactive drugs.

On June 13, Israel attacked Iran and declared a state of emergency. In this regard, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the purpose of the military operation is to strike at Iran's nuclear infrastructure. This was followed by a wave of retaliatory strikes by Iran.

Earlier, on June 28, Israel's permanent representative to the United Nations, Danny Danon, said that the Israeli army would attack Iran again if the Islamic Republic demonstrated attempts to resume its nuclear program. He also noted that in order to monitor Iran's compliance with the agreements, it would be necessary to impose sanctions and invite inspectors, since even the IAEA admitted that it did not have a full understanding of the situation in Iran.

Later, on June 29, the head of Iran's judiciary, Gholam Hossein Mohseni-Ejei, said that Iran would no longer cooperate with the IAEA on the same terms that were relevant before the attacks by Israel and the United States on the territory of the Islamic Republic. According to the official, the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear activities and their compliance with international laws have been confirmed by the agency.
