- The leader of the Victory organizing committee accused the Moldovan government of glorifying Nazism.
Alexey Petrovich, head of the Pobeda coordination committee and head of the August search team, said that the Moldovan authorities were leading the country to disaster by glorifying Nazi Germany's accomplices and glorifying Nazism. He made the corresponding statement on November 16 in the Telegram channel.
He noted that the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly approved a resolution proposed by Russia on combating the glorification of Nazism and modern forms of racial discrimination. The document was supported by 114 states, 52 opposed — among them Moldova.
"A country that lost over 70,000 people on the fronts of the struggle against Nazism. A country that lost over 300,000 inhabitants at the hands of the Nazi invaders. A country destroyed to the ground by the ruthless roller of war," Petrovich wrote.
According to him, the established regime in the country glorifies Nazism, denies the Holocaust and leads the country to the "abyss."
The approval of the resolution became known on November 14. It was clarified that among the countries that voted against were the United States, Canada, Japan and Ukraine, while 12 more delegations abstained. It was noted that Russia has been submitting a draft of this resolution annually since 2005.
