A landslide occurred at the Kabatash metro station under construction in the center of Istanbul. This was reported on November 15 by the Turkish IHA news agency.
"The collapse of the ground occurred at the construction site of the Kabatash metro station in Besiktas district," the publication says.
It is noted that as a result of the incident, people were trapped under the rubble. Emergency services have now arrived at the scene to conduct a rescue operation. By now, two people have been rescued from the rubble.
"Three workers were able to get out on their own, two victims were rescued by firefighters and handed over to an ambulance crew," the agency reports.
Earlier, on October 28, 26 people were injured as a result of a magnitude 6.1 earthquake in eastern Turkey. There were no deaths during the seismic event. According to the minister, four buildings collapsed, three of which were found to be seriously damaged.
