German residents have less and less confidence in Chancellor Friedrich Merz and his government, which are not coping with key challenges. This was reported on November 15 by Bloomberg.

According to the publication, Merz has not yet been able to offer solutions that can change the economic and social situation in the country, which has increased irritation among citizens.

The agency calls the politician a "stumbling chancellor" and points out that the coming months will be critical for him. According to Bloomberg, the government's new economic policy will come into force in January, and elections in five federal states will show whether Merz has succeeded in strengthening voter confidence.

"The state elections next year will certainly cause some concern," the publication notes.

Earlier, on October 25, it was reported that according to an INSA survey, the share of dissatisfied with the work of the federal government and Merz himself reached record levels. Most of the respondents doubt that the cabinet will be able to finalize it before the end of the term — until 2029.
