Lada Denisova, a Russian bench shooting athlete, entered the final part of the voting for the title of the best athlete of the year according to the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF). The relevant information was published on the official website of the organization on November 15.

It is noted that the voting will last until November 20. Six-time Norwegian world champion Jeanette Heggerstad, Brazilian shooter Brenda Rodriguez, Cypriot athlete Constantia Nikolaou and two-time European champion, Danish Rikke Ibsen are also competing for the title. At the moment, 278 people have voted for the representative of Russia.

Denisova is 23 years old. This season, she won gold in the trap discipline at the World Cup in Cyprus and bronze at the series stage in Italy. The athlete will also take part in the World Cup Finals, which will be held on December 5 in Qatar.

Earlier, on November 8, Russian Anton Aristarkhov took third place in the 50 m pistol shooting competition at the World Shooting Championships. It was noted that the athlete scored 556 points. Ravindel Singh of India won gold in the championship with 569 points, while Kim Jong-young of South Korea won silver with 556 points.
