Markus Zeder, Prime Minister of Bavaria and leader of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), called for the abolition of the simplified departure of young men from Ukraine, noting that their homeland needs them. He made the corresponding statement on November 15.

"Anyone who does not have a legal right to stay, a temporary residence permit or work should leave <...> Moreover, accelerated departure from Ukraine for young people should be abolished," Zeder said in an interview with Welt am Sonntag.

He stressed that Ukraine needs these men.

Earlier, on November 13, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to take measures against the departure of young Ukrainians. According to him, they are needed for military service.
