Russian drone pilots showed the launch of the "dugout killer" in the free zone
Russian drone operators of the 4th Brigade of the Southern Group of Forces showed the process of launching a drone, which is called the killer of dugouts and shelters. This was reported on November 15 by a correspondent of Izvestia.
"Intelligence has reported the discovery of an enemy drone control point, from where the enemy launches its drones. Our soldiers were tasked with destroying the fortification," Egor Kildibekov said.
It is noted that the deployment took no more than two minutes, after which the drone headed at a speed of 120 km/ h towards the positions of the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
"Specifically, our calculation uses radio-controlled drones. We equip them with high—explosive, fragmentation and shaped charges, which are suitable for different purposes," said the sapper operator with the call sign Martin.
He added that shaped charges are used to destroy vehicles, fragmentation charges for infantry and high—explosive charges if necessary to destroy a fortified enemy position. Martin clarified that when ordering a strike on equipment, it is necessary to launch the drone as soon as possible, since if you delay, the target may leave and will not be hit.
"I will say that people who undergo training become head and shoulders above what we are currently being trained in," said another operator of unmanned systems with the call sign Manul.
According to the soldier, there are 25-30 sorties per day. It all depends on the goals and the situation at the front.
The day before, the Business Insider (BI) portal reported that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation began using drones controlled by fiber-optic cables with a range of up to 50 km, which disrupted Ukrainian logistics. First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov, in an interview with BI, noted that such UAVs are immune to electronic warfare (EW) and pose a very significant threat to logistics and personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on June 12 that thanks to drone operators, up to half of the Armed Forces' equipment is affected. The Russian army has accumulated good experience in the field of drones and the effectiveness of their use is constantly growing, he added.
