The Ministry of Industry and Trade announced the need for a platform for a dialogue between restaurateurs and the state

The emergence of platforms where the restaurant business and the government can discuss industry issues is becoming a prerequisite for the development of the industry. Nikita Kuznetsov, Director of the Department for the Development of Domestic Trade at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, told Izvestia on November 15.

The Ministry believes that systemic platforms for consolidated dialogue are important for further strengthening the industry's potential and supporting entrepreneurship.

"The restaurant industry is one of the most significant segments of the economy, which creates jobs and stimulates the growth of related sectors. In addition, it is the infrastructure of the hospitality industry that significantly influences the increase in the tourist attractiveness of the territories. Therefore, the emergence of platforms where business and government can discuss industry issues is becoming a prerequisite for the development of the industry," said Kuznetsov.

It is noted that one of these venues will be the Gastreet International Restaurant Show. The organizers of the project are in dialogue with the Ministry of Industry and Trade on the joint development of the industry, Dmitry Levitsky, the chief ideologist of the event, told Izvestia. According to him, the HoReCa Russian industry event is held annually with the participation of leading business representatives called the Gastreet International Restaurant Show. And in 2025, the project reaches a new level of business influence by strengthening the business format.

"For ten years now, year after year, we have been meeting in an informal setting and discussing our most pressing business development issues at the level of friendly communication. These were events for friends. But gradually these meetings turned into events that shape the development of the industry, so it was decided to expand the format," Levitsky explained.

According to him, the organizers will make every effort to present all the most relevant solutions for the industry at the site, taking into account not only Russian, but also international experience.

He also noted that next year they plan to invite representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Economic Development and other departments to participate in the project.

"We intend to become such a SPIEF for the restaurant industry, where restaurateurs and all those authorities that regulate our activities meet," Levitsky said.

The Gastreet International Restaurant Show 2026 will be held from June 8 to 12 in Sochi and will become the country's main professional event in the field of hospitality. Over the course of five days, more than 200 lectures, workshops and discussions will be held at eight business venues, setting the direction for the development of the market for years to come.

Guests will be treated to a Murmansk roll, a wonton with pumpkin puree, cold crayfish and pineapple salsa.

Earlier it was reported that in the restaurant and hotel business there is not only an increase in demand, but also an increase in salaries. So, in May of this year, St. Petersburg waiters were promised an income of 75 thousand rubles, in the middle of summer it had already reached 78 thousand rubles. The situation is similar with chefs: income growth by 3 thousand rubles per month (up to 89 thousand).
