Chelyabinsk court arrested high-ranking employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service for bribery

In Chelyabinsk, three high-ranking employees of the regional Federal Penitentiary Service were taken into custody in a case of abuse of office and taking bribes. This was reported on November 15 by a source of Izvestia.

The Central District Court of Chelyabinsk chose a preventive measure in the form of arrest until January 12, 2026 for the first deputy head of the Federal Penitentiary Service Sergei Bulchuk, the head of the department's own security department Oleg Mokhov and chief accountant Marina Ufimtseva.

They were detained by employees of the Federal Security Service for the Chelyabinsk Region with the assistance of the FSB of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia as part of an operational development.

Earlier, on November 14, Viktor Vitvitsky, ex-Minister of Agriculture of the Novgorod Region, was detained for suspicion of accepting bribes worth more than 6.5 million rubles. It was clarified that since 2020, the former minister has received bribes from entrepreneurs in return for giving them "farm" subsidies and other support in matters of interaction with government and supervisory authorities.
